Hendrix as a Reader and a Writer:
In Hendrix's pass time, he is a reader. Like most people he learned to read by being read to and by slowly learning how to sound out words and letters. According to Hendrix, people read in order to pass time, expand their vocabulary, get lost in the words, enjoyment, school work, news updates and just for plain curiosity. Hendrix has found that in order to be a good reader you have to have exceptional comprehensive skills in order to recognize what is going on in the book and in order to remember the story line. You must also have a sense of vocabulary. Reading is harder when you dont understand half the words that you see on the page. If you dont have a good vocabulary then you could look up the words that you dont understand in a dictionary so you learn the word for future references. When Hendrix reads he likes to take it slow and actually take in all of what is going on instead of just skimming through the sentences and not retaining any of the information that hes reading. The hardest part of reading for him is staying on task. When he reads, he tends to get distracted with things going on around him so if he's going to sit down and read something he needs to be in a silent environment where he is alone. Alone time is the key when it comes to reading. When it comes to the quality of a book or the reason why Hendrix wants to read it, it doesnt really matter what kind of book it is or who the author is. If Hendrix has heard the book is interesting or has been referred to it or it just looks interesting to him, he will read it. Stephen King is one of his favorite authors but he also enjoys books that are dramatic, like teen suicides or the end of the world. At home, Hendrix will read only on occasions. If he finds a book that he really is into, he will finish it that night or in a few days. He goes through books pretty quickly if he enjoys them. Reading is a good pass time but Hendrix would rather be playing music. Reading is only a "once in a while" thing for him.
When is comes to writing, Hendrix does quite a lot of it. As a young child he started writing as he learned the alphabet and slowly he started forming words and phrases and as school progressed he had to write essays and papers and poems and all sorts of writing assignments. Nowadays he will write for all types of occasions just like most people. Writing because of a break-up or because of a family death or to sort out their thoughts. People will write because they just enjoy writing. They will write about a life experience or a newfound love or anything that gets their emotions running wild. All you need to know in order to write well is how to put a pen or pencil onto a paper. Their are many forms of writing but anything that suits you is good. If you write from your inner self you will find that the best of work comes from it. Hendrix enjoys heartfelt poems or distraught, emotion filled pieces of writing. When Hendrix decides to write it usually comes from motivation. That motivation either comes from out of nowhere or a wave of emotions. Emotions are the greatest motivation for Hendrix when it comes to writing because putting his feelings on the paper really helps him sort them out in his mind and get a grip of what is really going on. At home, Hendrix writes a lot. Almost every day he writes something. From a piece of music, to a poem, to a letter. He always writes at least one things a day. When Hendrix writes, he is happy with any work that he comes up with. If its a piece of music, he will always be self-criticising himself but that is good when it comes to music writing because then the piece of music just gets better. When he writes a poem or anything of those sorts he is always content with the work because his poems come straight from the heart and anything that he puts on the paper is what he wanted on it.
